At first I was going to give this book three stars. While reading the book I did not know that it was a series of vignettes, thus the shifts between characters and in time made the narrative seem disjointed. Looking back on the book with the knowledge that it was not a single, coherent narrative changes my opinion of the book.
Despite the above distraction, I did really enjoy the book. The opening chapter on the duel between Hamilton and Burr was absolutely fascinating. The fact that Aaron Burr was Jonathan Edwards' grandson is one of those historical facts that I absolutely love.
I definitely recommend the book.
