The process of economic integration among the United States, Canada and Mexico involves more political co-operation than has been the case historically. The distinction between domestic and international policy is becoming increasingly blurred, inviting a redefinition of sovereignty, both conceptually and in practice. The ensuing implications encompass domestic political accommodation as well as trilateral issues such as commercial policy.
