Luna was enlightening in a sense. How someone could feel so lost in their own skin. It had me crying at points. Reading the back cover of the book caught my attention instantly. I had never read any other books about transgender. For Regan she wants nothing more than to see her older brother Liam happy, and she truly only sees him happy late at night when he comes into her room and becomes who he really is. This book will hold your attention from beginning to end.

Tracie McMurray

Some of this book was painfully stereotypical and cliche. The main character and her love interest are klutzy around each other, we get it, already! But it was a finalist for the National Book Award for a good reason. It tells the story of a teen who is the sister of a transexual. The burden of the secret is the most realistic part about the book.

Well,I did it! I finished the book.I can't say I'm all team homo now,because all Luna did was to put Regan in trouble.But I don't think I really did hate her...

DNFed at 57%. This is a really important story to be told and I understand it’s value, but the point of view and style choices just did not work for me

Really nice, quick read. Believable characters. Reagan made me want to hug and confort her and at times punch her square in the face, which is always a good thing. It made her countless times more real. And then Luna. Oh godess, Luna. She was pure perfection and I couldn't love her more. Not much of a plot, but then again, the character development was amazing,so I haven't really got anything to complain about.

This was a great book! It’s important to note that this is just one person’s experience of being transgender and that it isn’t always a ‘born in the wrong body’ experience. There isn’t just one way to be transgender, but the book did a great job at highlighting this one character’s experience and identity and it’s definitely worth the read.
