I'm a big fan of Criminal Minds, and when I realised there were accompanying books I couldn't wait to purchase them. As I knew already, Collins does a good job at translating the characters to books, a task I wouldn't wish on anybody. It was great reading new stories about some of my favourite characters. Overall, they're a good, easy read that require practically no imagination because you already know the people and their history, but they're nothing special.

Overall, they're a good, easy read that require practically no imagination because you already know the people and their history, but they're nothing special.

Felt the same way I do when watching another episode of Criminal Minds, only that the author paid quite a bit of attention attempting to present the occurrences through the lenses of different agents, and this I found refreshing and different from the episodes. Even more so since it felt like the reader could 'get under their skin', but I felt this perspective style of writing could have been pulled off better, as at times the language felt a tad unrealistic, in some way especially pertaining to the 'thoughts' which I found rather annoying. I liked very much how Garcia was described; it certainly matched words I would have chosen for her. Most importantly, fitting the tradition of a crime thriller, the plot was absorbing and well-crafted, a page turner.
