(3.75/5) 2 hours 12 minutes - A really good snapshot of a messy but lovable family at Christmas time. The writing style sometimes seemed a little over the top and a caricature of a gen z perspective, but aside from this, the text was easy to read and engaging. I particularly loved Rowan's character, he felt very real and I loved reading from his point of view. Dawson is very good at writing realistic, lovable, flawed characters.

           In truth, the only characters I liked were Willow and Syd, however, the relationship between the two twins was a little skewed. They're better people than I if I found out a sibling as basically in love and had sex with my boyfriend but that's what makes them complex, 3-dimensional characters with flaws as real people are.

This book was fab!!

It was a really gripping story set at Christmas which was full of drama. I loved the family dynamics and the broad range of serious topics weaved through the series. These included eating disorders, sexuality and gender and mental health

I would highly recommend but also flag the trigger warnings just in case. I am looking forward to discovering more of this authors books

I extremely enjoyed this book! It’s such an incredible story! I absolutely loved the festive aspect of it and it is a perfect read, especially for this time of year! The way that the book is written with the narrative switching between the three siblings is so well written and made the book even more brilliant. With the characters own stories coming together to make the storyline so effective. This book is so well written and I would definitely recommend reading! 

Stay Another Day was a raw commentary on society, privilege and relationships. It talks openly and honestly about mental health and featured some of the best OCD rep I’ve read. There was a lot of hope in this book, a lot of figuring out what you want and what makes you happy, and a lot of healing. 

I found multiple parts of this book emotional, Juno Dawson creates such relatable and real characters, it’s hard not to feel the emotions they feel. I found multiple different parts of this book relatable where I didn’t expect to, and it really hit me. 

Aside from all of the hard hitting stuff, this was a fantastically cosy Christmas read. The home this is centred around just felt the epitome of a festive family home and I could see it so clearly in my head. I think this is a book that will stick with me for a while in both imagery and message.
