When I picked up the first book, I was shocked at how easy it was to devour, and this second installment wasn't any different. Nyfain and Finley continue to have such a tantalizing enemies-to-lovers dynamic while still being able to develop themselves and their relationship. With curing the kingdom and the breaking of the curse on both their minds, Finley continues to be the badass main character that she is and gets shit done. Besides a third of the book being dedicated to smut and smutesque adventures (shut up, you know you love it), the story-building and reveals are so delightful you can't help but keep reading. 

This is the type of book that gets you riled up in the best possible way and makes you think you can tear up a kingdom all by yourself. Fuel the fire and read the books.

Ok, I am back and I have not stopped thinking about this book and the ending. 

First off, this book was hot. She definitely built it up so well with A Ruin of Roses and the wait was absolutely worth it.

Second, omg the romance, the feels. All of it. I love that we got to see more of Nyfain and Finley finally giving in to each other and less of them fighting each other. Although, there was still plenty of that and it just made the spice so much better.

The letters they sent back and forth in the beginning were absolutely precious. I love how vulnerable and open Nyfain was (not to mention filthy as well lmaooo we love the balance). We got a different side of him in those letters and they melted my heart every time. 

One of my favorite things about these books is Nyfain's character. Specifically, how the author wrote him. He is this alpha prince, obviously very possessive and short tempered, but also sensitive and not afraid to embrace his "gentler" qualities. He openly admits to his father wanting him to be aggressive and prefer fighting, but he feels more at home gardening and reading. Like?? How can you not love this man? 

Also, goddess above, the whole deal where Nyfain recommends books to her and vice versa. Fucking so sweet. Him being excited about reading romance novels?? This man was clearly written by a woman and I am here. for. it. 

Finley is one of my favorite, favorite, favorite female main characters that I've read this year. There were so many times while reading this that I expected her to be the damsel in distress and let herself be saved or just blend in the background as to not draw attention to herself, but she never did any of that. She was unapologetically herself all of the time and that consisted of being this fiercely independent, strong woman who doesn't take shit from anyone. 

Not only that, she is incredibly compassionate and generous with her time and knowledge. She is incredible and I absolutely love her. 

This book honestly blew me away. As I mentioned earlier, the first book was good. I mean, I gave it 4 stars. This book? 10x better. I could not put it down.

The ending killed me. That's all I'm gonna say about it. I will be impatiently waiting for February for the next one, but y'all please do yourself a favor and read these books. I am obssessed.

I don't know that I have the words to describe how much I actually loved this book. I didn't expect to love this series as much as I do but Finley (MC) has absolutely made this book a must read from my perspective. The blend of fairytale-esque and modern sayings/amenities is extremely well done. Many logic questions are answered that I am typically left with with most fantasy books. Very excited for the next one.

110% a sex-fest of a novel, but if you enjoy that or can read past it, it’s actually pretty good. It is all about what (many) women want in men, and it was honestly kind of interesting to read it and think about. 
I wouldn’t recommend this book to very many people, but if you’re comfortable with your sexuality then it’s alright.

While I think the idea behind these novels is fun - I have to say, they're just not for me. This second installation is even more smut-heavy than the last, and while the writing style has improved slightly I find myself still struggling with the contrast between adult content and YA language. I could see where the appeal is for some, but it's just not there for me.

I was super excited to jump back into this world and see where Nyfain and Finley ended up. The first book was sooo amazing and hooked me immediately! I had a little harder time getting into this one admittedly. 

The sex scenes in this book are in abundance and so very hot. If you like smut, then you are going to love reading those scenes. And I did! Mostly. At times I found it a little repetitive, but the salon scene is 🔥🔥🔥

I would have liked seeing a little more plot in this book. We finally got to see the demon king and I wanted it to be more gruesome 😂😂 I did, however, think the ending was super strong!

Overall, this book was a fun read. I hope we get more plot in book 3 and revenge! I can’t wait to read it! 😍
