I really enjoyed reading this book. While exposing the Doctrine of Islam ( which I re-discovered again), Armstrong referred to similar teachings in both Christianity and Judaism, and that made the book more interesting. She thoroughly scanned the Arabian context, and tried to show how revolutionary the Islam was to the Peninsula...
She mostly cited passages from Ibn Ishaq one of the first historians who documented the Prophet (ppbuh) life.
She depicted Islam marvellously (that's how it seemed to me), and demonstrated that : Ney ! Islam is not a sword religion, far than this it's a non violence religion and so on of the Westerners imaginative perceptions. I started doubting from where Ghandi had his whole idea about the Ashram and Satyagraha thing is it from the Umma ...?!
