I enjoyed Bloodfever more than Darkfever for one reason: Mac. In the first installment of this series she was the pink-adoring daddy's girl, while in this book we can see more growth in her. She has become a kick ass, blood thirsty girl who is looking for revenge.

I am looking forward to read more about her & JB.

Hello new series that has stolen my attention, soul and mind. It’s cool I didn’t need to fiction for a few days, I’ll just sit here and devour this series.
Book two was even better than book one. Barron is all over the place, Vlane shows up, shades are bitches, some things are better left uneaten...then again maybe sit was a good thing, and that ending!!

I want to know what Barrons is SO. BADLY. What is Mac’s family history/lineage? Who/what is the Lord Master? What is going on???

Also this is the slowest of slow burns and I cannot wait for the payoff. I flew through this one much faster than the first.

I wasn't as into this book like the first one. There was some nice developments in the story, but it just took me awhile to get through it all. I have to say I did enjoy Mac a lot more. She seemed more mature and there was less descriptions of her clothes and nail polish. The ending was pretty good though and I'm pretty excited to read the next book.

Also Barrons still sucks.I'm pretty sure I hate him. I hope he gets better, but I'm not counting on it. I just don't see what's so attractive about him. Maybe because he acts like douche canoe.

Lover of Romance 

So I debated sharing my summary of this one, and decided not too, there isn't too much that changes from the first book. It starts off from the last book, and I was hoping there would be a little more romance in it, but yet again I was disappointed on the romance level. Bloodfever didn't stand out to me, but I think I liked it slightly more than the first one, since it didn't take as long to get through it. I think I knew what I was expecting from the first book, so I was more prepared for this one. The writing style is very moning, however it will take a while to get used to her change of how she is writing fiction now. Maybe the romance will escalate in the later books (I am crossing my fingers). Despite my reservations for this story, I did try to go into with a positive attitude. I did enjoy the tension that puts a punch in this story. We still have two men involved with Mac. Jericho is still as mysterious as ever or even more so now. Vlane, we see a little bit, but not as much as I expected to see especially from the first book. There is a bit of progression in Mac's character, but I still have a difficulty truly liking her. She is admirable at times, but I feel like she complains way too much. I did feel like there were only subtle differences in the plot, from the previous book. So I am hoping that Faefever will have more surprises in store for me than this one was for me. I know this review is pretty negative, especially compared to other reviews I have written, but I am still having a hard time adjusting to this series that is so opposite from her highlander series (which I 5 star recommend). I am enjoying this Fae world that Moning has created, and it has definitely been full of thrills all the way. Overall a action packed story, that if you are looking for a fiction based story with a dangerous world of Fae creatures, with darkness every corner, and no one to trust....than this book is for you!!

Bloodfever was a little better than Darkfever but not enough to give a higher rating. Karen Marie Moning did great with the prologue, catching up with what happened in book 1. 

Mac still annoyed me but not as much. I wanted more character growth then what I got. Plot wise I also I wanted more. I felt there was just more revealing of bad guys/monsters. I still feel that there is more about her sisters death. Again this book did not wow me but still was unable to put down. I am just waiting for something to shock me, I did not see coming. I know the plot has a lot to do with finding the Sinsar Dubh (black magic book) but for some reason I am more interested in her sisters death.

Again no romance but I am starting to see Barrons and V'lane showing signs of interest in her. This is not a love triangle. They both have their reasons for needing her help. V'lane I am starting to get a little curious about. Barrons really caught my attention more in this book. I know there is so much more to him. I really need to know who and what is in his garage basement, who does the second phone number belong too if can not get in touch with Barrons. I am loving their banter and bickering. They have a good like/hate relationship.

Hopefully I will get more in book 3.

You know how this is going to go right? My first review for this book was written just two months ago so don't you expect me to write another one so soon. Hey, I have a life outside of GR you know (well, more or less). All you'll be getting from me is another episode in the Fever Freak's Facts of Life (abridged version).

Fact #1: Rainbow Mac still has some serious growing up to do.

She's doing better but needs to realize moral fiber is seriously overrated.

Save your saliva. It might come in handy later on (did I hear someone mention book 4 – chapter 4?).

Freaky MacHalo buddy read starting November, 10 2014.

OH. WOW. Where do I start? This is SO much better than the first book. Actually I could easily downgrade Darkfever to a 2.5 rating after reading Bloodfever. But I'm not *that* bad so I'll just leave my rating as it is:)

So that's basically me while reading the book: "Bloody hell! Holy crap! You have to be kidding me! Well hello again you death-by-sex Fae, mind if I take my bra off? What the f**ck just happened?! Go girl, you show him! Arrrrggggh! Oh, swooning a bit right there! Well that was unexpected! Barrons, you aggravating, infuriating, exasperating, sneaky bastard! Oh no you don't! No more pink bullshit, yay! Hey Barrons, if you really want to tattoo someone I'm right here *waves frantically at Kindle screen*! Oooooh that was pretty disgusting, I love it! Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh wow. Freaking wow! Hallelujah! Yes yes yes!"

You get my drift. Yes, Bloodfever was a pretty awesome read. A fast-paced, intense, emotional, exciting as hell roller-coaster ride. What impressed me most here was Moning's writing. It was alright in Darkfever but she really has outdone herself here. Moning has a strange yet brilliant way of giving the reader glimpses of events that have just happened behind the scenes that leaves you thinking: "Wait, did I just skip a page or something?" The details seem to appear magically a few paragraphs or pages later, blending effortlessly into the story. It's hard to explain really but it's one fantastic writing trick. That a story told in such a way would be understandable at all is amazing. Well, to be honest, I was a bit clueless most of the time but that's only because Moning loves to tease her readers to death, planting more questions in their little heads than she's giving them answers for. Brilliant writing I tell you! 

Talking about the plot is nearly impossible here. Too many things happening, too many twists and revelations, too much information. It's just one (choose all that apply) jaw-dropping/amazing/emotional/funny/crazy/infuriating/fascinating scene after another. Want to know my favourite ones? Of course you do! Here goes: Mac & V'Lane at BBB (their conversation is funny as hell and what can I say? I can't resist the guy.), (view spoiler)[Fiona being a total bitch: this series really needed a bitch from hell ! (hide spoiler)], Mac's dad visiting, (view spoiler)[Dani telling Mac that there are no male sidhe-seers (hide spoiler)], silent conversations (love 'em!), the auction scene, (view spoiler)[Mac finding out that Barrons was her sister's landlord (hide spoiler)], Mac's involuntary beach holiday and her return to a very pissed off Barrons (that'll teach him!), the tattoo scene (hello! Still volunteering here Barrons!), the freaking Burren scene from beginning to end… and its aftermath! Okay okay you win, I'll stop right there. 

I have to say that one aspect of the plot disappointed me. It's hard to talk about it without revealing anything so I guess it's spoiler time. (view spoiler)[Grim reaper=Mallucé=culprit. That felt like a cheap trick to me. I expected something bigger and darker to be revealed and the fact that it was "only" Mallucé felt like a let-down. I was never really impressed by Mallucé. As far as bad guys go he's a bit on the light side and the supposed vampire act never added anything to the plot. Don't get me wrong, I love the scenes in the Burren. They are amazing and probably the best scenes in the series so far. Still, the fact that Mallucé was the bad guy felt a bit anticlimactic to me. (hide spoiler)] Oh wait, I just thought of something else that was a bit disappointing. Sorry, spoiler time again! (view spoiler)[I think it's a shame that Mac didn't stay part-Fae, it would have been such a fantastic twist to the story! Too bad Moning didn't go with it. (hide spoiler)]

Now let's talk about Rainbow Girl for a second here. Mac, Mac, Mac. We weren't on the best of terms at first. How was I supposed to believe that a superficial, Barbie-looking, silly girl would turn into one of the most awesome butt kicking heroines out there? I can't say she is a total badass yet but we're slowly getting there. She's grown a lot since the first instalment and she's lost most of her air-headed attitude which is a huge relief. I still think that Moning overdid it with the Pinky Rainbows act in Bloodfever. I have no problem with a naïve, inexperienced heroine but there was no need to re-hash it all the way she did by adding layer upon layer of superficial silliness. Mac certainly seems to be getting her act together towards the end of the book and she finally holds her own against Barrons and the rest of the clique.

So. Mr Barrons. Here we are. After reading the first instalment I obviously thought you were an aggravating bastard. Because, you know, you are one. Anyway, my freaky BR friends had warned me that I would fall under your exasperating-yet-irresistible spell by the end of book 2. Although I have not yet fallen entirely victim to your "I'm hot, sexy and infuriating" act I have to admit I liked the swoon-worthy potential I had a glimpse of here (view spoiler)[tattoo scene + lusty Burren = yum (hide spoiler)] It seems some readers want romance to blossom between Mac & Barrons. You know what? Romance is terribly overrated. Just give me the lust and I'll be the happiest of girls! As to what Barrons may or may not be: I don't really have a clue here except that silly little me had the very fine idea to read the Burned blurb the other day. Now I know one of Barrons' dirty little secrets. Clever. Very very clever of me… 

All in all this was a pretty awesome read. What made it even more fantastic? My MacHalo gang of course! You guys rock.

Daha ikinci kitap fakat seriyi çok sevdiğimi söylemeliyim. Bu kitap da Barrons biraz yumuşak mı ne ? Alttaki sözünü çok sevdiğimi söylemeliyim. Hemen üçüncü kitaba koşuyorum.

In 2021 this book is 14 years old. And it did not hold up against time.
I dislike many things, actually I disliked more than I did like. I felt like the author put too many of her worldly and political views unnecessarily into the storyline and made them characteristics to our characters. Which is fine for 2007, and not uncommon. But what annoyed me was the hypocrisy of those same sentiments. Barrons is also written in such a problematic way. He is abusive in a cringing way at too many points in the book. Like why are they punching each other while kissing? How do you punch and kiss someone in the same breath?! 💀 

I enjoyed the character journey. I’m heading to book 3 and we still have no clue who can be trusted, we still lack answers but Mac is really going through the fire and coming out gold! 

In 2007 this would have been a 3 star for me had I read it. Now it’s a 1.5/5

I’m so glad I went with my gut feeling and picked up the second book. This was super captivating and addictive and dare I say that Mac totally grew on me? I actually loved this and I’m really excited to continue with the series.
