Shiver was well written, but the story was fairly average. Sam repossess cars at night to support herself and her four year old son. While on a run, she accidentally stumbles on "Marco," who has been left in the trunk of a car she is repossessing. When his attackers find her, she is thrown in with Marco to be killed later. Marco is actually Danny, an undercover FBI agent. Not knowing who Marco really is, Sam still attempts to help him escape. Too much of this story was spent with inner monologues and time spent in safe houses. There wasn't enough action, plot, or character development for a story of this length. Definitely a disappointment from author, Karen Robards, who usually does a better job with romantic suspense.
