bruh. BRUH. this was a solid 4 star read alllll the way up until the last page and now i wanna give it ONE STAR BC WTF GIRL. ill stick with my 4 but i am seriously UPSET!!!
anywho, the pacing in this was s l o w . the twists were unexpected and i liked the story. Lena is seriously the most GD annoying person ive ever read my lordddd. me when i rate a book 4 stars and spend my entire review ragging on it - LOL. no seriously i did enjoy this but i am absolutely reeling from that ending. 
now that im thinking more maybe this is 3.5.. idk. i feel like some stuff from the other books should have been explained more and it feels weird to just never talk about it again,,, idk!!!!!!! at the end of the day i did like this book and LOVED this series overall omg so good. 5 stars for the series as a whole for SURE. we'll just pretend that last chapter never happened xoxo

I wish I had the guts to hate someone as much as Karin Slaughter hates her characters. I mean, I know the woman likes to bombard us with shock elements and damn how I like it! 

But this is a whole new level of yelling. *deeply inhale* 3...2....1

Friendly Advice: Please stop reading at that certain point around the very end when Jeffrey and Sara yelled that happy, adorable yells (you'll know it when you see it). 

That's the kind of ending we all deserve.

Once again, we are with Chief Tolliver and his wife Sara Linton, the coroner, on a quest to uncover Detective Lena Adams' dark past. When Lena is arrested for murder - with an exploded car and a burnt body melted into the backseat, we all know that this time, something really really bad is about to be unraveled. 

Cue in the neo-Nazi, white supremacist gangs (plural). Cue in the creepy, small-town atmosphere. Cue in the unreliable narrators, the more the merrier!

Probably 120 pages too long (the suspense about Lena's past wasn't really matter to me anymore by the time it actually mattered). 

I know I should move forward to Will Trent series but I think I need something lighter to reactivate my faith in humanity one more time. And hell, I wasn't even that invested with the characters.

The final book in the Grant County series and it starts off with a shocking prologue that leaves the reader very curious whom the mystery woman is and how Lena is involved before jumping to Sara dealing with a malpractice suit against her. Lena is discovered at a hospital and makes an escape when Jefferey and Sara go to her aid. We get to see, from Lena's POV what led up to her having been detained amd ending up in the hospital. Plenty of surprise twists keep the reader coming back for more to uncover this intricate story. That ending left me shocked and angry to be honest.
