This was the perfect light hearted beach read. The characters were fun, the romance was sweet, and I found myself smiling the whole way through. There were a few flaws within the story that are typical for a YA contemporary read but I still really enjoyed the story. I look forward to trying more of Kasie West.

I'll be honest. I was kind of detached the first hundred pages of this book. I was really not feeling the romance. Aside from not really liking both of the characters at first, the progress really affected my first impression. Everyone who started this book surely knew who was Lily's secret pen pal. It was not exactly a mystery for the readers. Knowing who it was but hadn't seen enough face-to-face interaction with both of them until a hundred-page mark made me impatient. I mean, that was already one-third of the book, but all I saw was the veeeery limited physical exchange between them, not really ideal for romance. Yes, I know. They were more interacting in letters and it was the first point of the story. That the slow progress was exactly the building up the author wanted for her readers. But it also made me hesitate and think twice if I would really like it. 

However, after that hundred-page mark, oh boy! My anticipation with where the story would lead me started to grow. It was exactly the moment Lily discovered who really was her secret pen pal. That was where I became eager. The interaction outside the letter really started and for me, that was when the story really started. That was also where my adoration with Lily and Cade developed. I mean, I didn't really like their limited childish banter pre-letters. But then I started to find it really cute after Lily learned the truth. I realized the reason was because it was when I really saw the connection between them, that there was really a romance building up, which I initially thought was hard to see. And that they really looked cute together.

Overall, I really liked this book so much! It was sooo cute. It was light, fun, fluffy, sweet and easy read. I was literally smiling widely that it seriously made my mouth ached. I started listening to the audiobook before midnight and made my way until four in the morning. I wouldn't even notice the time if I hadn't needed to use the bathroom. I was already 90 percent of my audiobook that time and my eyes were already starting to drop. I just finished the last 10 percent after waking up. So basically, I read this book in one sitting. That's how much I adored this book. I gave up my precious sleep just to finish it quickly! 

As of now, I really loved Kasie West. Regardless that I have only read two of her books (this one and By Your Side), those two books were so adorable and a very worth read! I would definitely pick up her other books soon!

Cliches but cute story tho. Also the letter writing was my favorite bits and the lyrics of Lily. Thats all.

this book is SO ADORABLE but the main character kinda made me want to rip my hair out. it's the kind of book you read simply for pleasure.

- the plot was predictable and cliché but i didn't mind
- i felt the pacing was a bit fast and took some getting used to 
- the second half of this book was much better than the first
- i was hoping to see strong character development but there wasn't much as far as i could tell
- i do like the family dynamics though
- the frienships are also fantastic
- some of the situations were a bit too unrealistic for my taste but....
- also really not a fan of the MC
- I FORGIVE EVERYTHING BC SO SO SO CUTE

Overall, 2016 has been a disappointing reading year. I was feeling particularly fed up, so I took a break from my other unsatisfying books to read something light. It turns out P.S. I Like You was a good choice. I definitely liked it better than the other book I read by West: The Fill-In Boyfriend. P.S. I Like You had characters that were much easier to like and was overall much more charming.

The plot was a tad predictable, but unfortunately that is common in Chick Lit. But I enjoyed the characters and their exchange of letters. I am old fashioned in certain ways, and one of them is that I love writing letters. Email just does not have the same affect. Don't even get me started on Tweeting. So I thoroughly enjoyed watching these two little lovebirds subtly flirt the old fashioned way. And I appreciated the element of two characters falling for each other's minds not their looks as they started out writing anonymously. It even managed to stir up a couple of butterflies and definitely helped me spend at least a few hours away from the drudgery of everyday and the disappointment of my other current reads. 

I would recommend to anyone looking for a cute, easy, clean read. It is a very fun story!

Just as we were getting to the good parts, it ended. And that sucks. 93% of the novel was (view spoiler)[Cade and Lily (hide spoiler)] being stubborn af and then the remaining 7% was them starting their relationship. 

And then the book ended. What the hell?? It was only starting to get good and then it ended. What a bummer and a rip off.

Ok, this was very cliche, and it was super easy to know what was going on for the whole thing, but it was still ridiculously adorable.

I read this in about 3.5 hours last night between 11 pm and 2:30 am... and it was just so adorable. Sometimes you just need a cutesy YA romance riddled with miscommunication, secrets, best friends, crazy families, and hot, sensitive boys to fall asleep at night. 

Now, title aside, this definitely gave me lara jean from To All the Boys I've Loved Before vibes. Only because both authors chose to make their protagonist's animated, chaotic, loving family a prominent figure in novel. Both Cade and Peter K. were also popular jocks with family problems and a vindictive "girlfriend". 

Were there similar ingredients in both YA books? Yes. But it was a tried an true recipe that made me fall in love with high school romances all over again.

Este libro es un To all the boys I've loved before meets Eliza and her monsters meets Eleanor & Park . Al menos, a mí me transmitía vibras similares a esos libros, que por cierto me encantan también.

Tuve una sonrisa en el rostro todo el tiempo. El intercambio de cartas me encantaba (yo soy muy fan de las cartas ¿bien?), el sentido del humor que tenían me gustaba mucho y me gusta cómo empiezan a conocerse de esa forma. Quién era el chico no fue una sorpresa en lo absoluto y creo que la autora tampoco intentaba que lo fuese, era bastante obvio desde el principio para nosotros como lectores, aunque no tanto para Lily. 

Y soy fan del amor-odio, así que este libro me tenía living. Había tensión. AMO la tensión. Yaaasss!

Cade Jennings me transmitía las más grandes Peter Kavinsky vibes, y me encantaba que me lo recordara tanto porque Peter K. es el amor de mi vida (o al menos uno de ellos, tantos personajes ficticios son difíciles de manejar). Así que no es difícil de descifrar que me ha encantado. Tenía esa personalidad que tanto me gusta. Y es lindo ver cómo vamos descubriendo que no todo en su vida es tan perfecto, porque así vamos conociendo su parte más humana y vulnerable. Y ellos se odian, como ODIO TOTAL Y PURO, y ver cómo va cambiando eso lentamente me mataba <3 Es como que nos demuestran que no debemos juzgar antes de conocer, porque no sabemos por lo que pueda estar pasando la otra persona. Y que aunque ellos fuesen tan diferentes podía haber algo en común que los uniría.

Su relación es adorable, lo digo en serio.

It surprised me when his cheeks turned a light shade of pink. I wasn’t sure why that embarrassed him in any way. I was positive he already knew it. He ran one hand through his hair. Then he said, almost too quiet for me to hear, “You’re not every girl.”

Cuando las cartas iban volviéndose más personales estaba desesperada porque cada uno descubriera quién era su pen pal, no podía esperar para descubrir sus reacciones. Y la de Lily fue muy predecible pero la de Cade no! Él lo descubre desde antes de que nosotros sepamos que él lo sabe, así que hay muchas reacciones que no puedo recordar si fueron antes o después de que él lo supiera y sólo me hacen querer releer el libro para fijarme más en los detalles. Ah y la escena donde él le recita su carta en voz alta... ¿Puedo estar más enamorada?

El final me gustó mucho. Pero YO NECESITABA MÁS. ¿Qué pasó en el concurso? ¡Exijo saber!

Siento que no estoy haciendo justicia con mi reseña. Tengo muchas partes marcadas y mucho que decir, pero ahora mismo no viene a mí :v De cualquier forma, fue una lectura adorable, de esas que me encantan y estoy feliz de haberle dado una oportunidad.

Ahora, dos fragmentos que son la clase de cosas cheesy que necesito leer en mi vida. NO SÉ SI CUENTAN COMO SPOILERS ASÍ QUE LEER CON PRECAUCIÓN:

“You are adorable. And I didn’t think I needed to ask. I thought it was assumed. But I’ll ask.” Then he did the most embarrassing thing in the world. He threw his hands in the air as we were approaching the commons and screamed, “Lily, will you be my girlfriend?”
“Not after that I won’t,” I said.
“Really?”
“Of course I will. Now put your hands down and stop being so … ”
“Mainstream?”
“Loud.”
He laughed and gave me a quick kiss. “See you at the rally, girlfriend.”

“I’m not ruining your hipster vibe?”
I laughed. “My hipster vibe? I didn’t know I had one of those.”
“Oh, you do. You’re casually cool. Uniquely different. And I’m totally throwing that off.” He gestured to himself. His smile made it seem like a joke but I wondered if he really was worried.
I stopped, turned toward him, and kissed him in the middle of the crowded parking lot. “You’re my favorite mainstream boy in the world. Don’t forget it.”
This time he blushed a little. “Good. Because I am pretty great. I just wanted to make sure you appreciated that.” He winked at me, his confidence back.
I rolled my eyes and pulled him forward along with me. “Oh, I do.”

I have only read 2 books by Kasie West, and now this one (making it the third book). I really enjoyed The Distance Between Us, but P.S. I Like You is the BEST Young Adult novel I've read all year! It reminded so much what YA genre is about: it's cute, adorable, fun, hilarious, light, and all the feels! YA novels don't really have that much feels for me in terms of the romance or just the story in general, unless it's a Mental Illness book. But P.S. I Like You made me feel all the feels!

The fact that this novel includes letters had me so intrigued. In this modern age, we are so used to texting that we forget to actually sit down and write a letter. When reading this novel, my mind went back to my high school years and how my friends and I would pass notes to each other. We had our phones but we just loved sending each other letters in the classroom and then getting to keep them (I still have a box with those letters and notes).

Of course, I didn't have a guy sending me letters back then. I won't lie, my thought through the whole novel was, "Why didn't I have a guy like him back in high school for this to happen to me?!" I was eagerly looking forward to each note Lily and the guy would send to each other. Each letter was funny and at the same time, deep in emotions. These two teens would open up about themselves so much in those letters and they didn't even know who they were writing to. But they felt like they could trust each other and that's all that mattered.

The story is cliché in the sense that you know who's the guy—it's obvious from the start. This is more for Lily, to learn more about a person before thinking badly of them. The guy she learned to like from the letters was a guy she didn't like in real life. Through the letters, she learned there's more than meets the eye.

The ending left me a tad hanging. There's a contest that Lily's interested and I was expecting more of it, but it wasn't talked about enough. Still, my heart kept melting while reading. I'm pretty sure it ended up being goo on the floor (okay, inside my body, but let's not get technical here). This story gripped my heart ever since the letters started. I sat down and didn't get up at all! I was actually eating while reading this book and my food ended up getting cold because I did not want to interrupt my reading. I wanted to enjoy it completely, which it's exactly what happened!

I'm so in love, guys. I cannot wait for this book to come out so I can buy it! I'll be honest and say I wasn't that excited over this book, but now I just want to push it on all of you so you feel what I felt and fall head over heels in love!

P.S. I Like You made me forget real life. I submerged myself so deep into the story that when I finished, I wanted more. I needed more of this story because it was beyond what I imagined that I couldn't take coming back to real life—coming back from the high that this book gave me. It's officially a 2016 favorite!

4.5 - as always, cute read. Loved the dynamic of the main character and her family. It's always refreshing to dive into contemporaries that bring you back to high school or can be compared to one of those 80's teen movies. :)

Idk man. Slightly upset. It wasn’t my favorite book by her for sure. I feel like the story had so much potential and it just fell so flat. Like I guessed who it was from the first not even letter encounter. It was way obvious but it was cute at times and totally cheesy. So not all bad I suppose.

My thoughts are not very cohesive because it’s almost 4 AM and I just read this book straight through. This was absolutely not my favorite Kasie West book. It was relatively cute but could absolutely not fully redeem itself from the poorly executed YA tropes.
