This collection wrecked me, breaking my heart into pieces. I don’t read poetry for fun, I read it to feel something and Savage delivers that. This collection is raw and relatable (at least to me). Some of my favorites were ‘Daddy Issues’, ‘Gag Order’ and ‘Time & Death’. These poems make you ache, in such a way that leaves me thinking about these lines hours later. “You say I shouldn’t feel his absence, but you make me carry it, remind me of it each time I love a man who doesn’t love me.”
