Five contestants must spend the night in Umber Gorge caves, the sight of many deaths and unexplained disappearances. The local townspeople blame the Puckered Maiden, a woman so heartbroken by the love of her life that she ripped his heart out before disappearing into the caves. Legend has it that anyone foolish enough to enter the caves will fall prey to the Puckered Maiden and have their hearts ripped out. Spooky stuff! But it's only a story, right?

Things soon escalate and tensions mount for the contestants of Its Behind You as they try to navigate the caves and escape the wrath of the Puckered Maiden. They assume production must be behind all the creepy things going on, but when stakes get higher and people start disappearing, they must ask themselves if the legend really is true...or if the evil in the caves with them is human.

I can’t say a lot more then this without giving away the plot, which you need to experience throughout the boo. I will say that it did take a while for the story to get going but once all the contestants entered the cave then the story really took off and the setting was exceptional and from the writing you really get that feeling of claustrophobic and dread that the characters are facing.

honestly, i was really expecting for this book to disappoint me due to first handful of chapters… i wasn’t a massive fan of the writing style as it felt more appropriate for a younger audience, but nonetheless i continued to read & found myself really enjoying the plot! the friendship some of the characters developed was super fun, and there were defo some moments where my heart started racing & my eyes and mouth were left wide open in shock! i wish the ending wasn’t so vague, it would’ve been nice for the story to have been rounded up fully! but i recommend for anyone wanting a fun suspenseful read :)

I enjoyed the story, and annoyingly I really liked Python. It was a lighthearted, short and enjoyable read. But, the ambiguity of the ending was not it. Like please just tell me what happened instead of making me think about the deeper meaning behind the last few chapters. I want to read a book that wraps up nicely and doesn’t leave any loose ends.

I started reading this book to see if I would like it but I ended up finishing it in one day. I'm not the best at finding clues to see who is the killer so it was definitely a big shock to me. The ending was a little bit frustrating and I loved Lex's relationship with Python and Liam.
