pros: 

- mc is not a detective but a medical examiner. the different pov (well researched at that) was refreshing

- plot is pretty good and interesting 

- characters were pretty nice. a lot of the cultural references went straight over my head though.

cons: 

- writing takes a while to get used. different. ends in abrupt sentences. (something like how my review is lol) 

- sometimes i wasn't entirely sure if mc was mature enough to have so many years of experience. her decisions felt irrational at times. 

- author has a habit of leaving certain chapters on cliffhangers and never really explaining it until later. it made the flow really confusing sometimes.
