I absolutely love this book and am thrilled that I finally had a chance to read it after receiving the book as a birthday gift and putting it on my wishlist a year and a half ago after having the enormous privilege of attending one of his seminars. 
This book is not designed for a teacher to read and cull lesson plans and activities to use. Gallagher has designed this book to reach out and smack the teacher committing readicide in their classroom either wittingly or unwittingly. Even though I just stated that this book is designed as a smack (or more gently put, a wake-up call) I still loved it. I am working through a couple of his other books as well as reflecting on my own teaching and how I can improve my teaching of reading. 

I highly recommend this book to all teachers, especially English teachers.
