My favorite book by RLS. Much better than Treasure Island, I think. But to digress, I love RLS' Requiem, written for his own tomb:

Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.

A nice adventure that reminds you of pirates stories and slavery. In general, all the stories from back then were pretty much the same, the ones that had to do with adventures from place to place and with treasures and journeys going wrong and liars and people getting backstabbed and back and forth. But, all in all I liked the character (even though naive), the plot, especially anything that had to do with his uncle was fun to read. And of course let's not forget the main reason I wanted to read it, it's set in the 18th century and the realism is really good on this one. It made me feel like I was there, so that takes it up a notch.
