Callie will spend her summer in the circus, invited by an uncle she's never met. The circus turns out to be a total horror show and the entertainers ghosts and murderers. With no one to trust and no way out, she must find a way to survive. For the dead walk among the living and everyone believes in magic and curses in this place. On top of everything else, Callie must stay away from the mysterious and psychotic Benny, a ghost who tried to kill her. She must also avoid Samuel, the ringmaster that saved her. And no matter what, she must escape.

I was captivated by this book. From first to last page my mind kept racing, trying to answer questions and solve mysteries. The author takes a unique approach to the mystery and fantasies surrounding the circus; a circus literally run by the dead and the damned. The atmosphere is eerie and the stakes high, if one wishes to stay alive. That very sense of imminent danger is what didn't let me put the book down.

I liked Callie's approach to her situation and the set of characters that surrounded her. All of them lost souls with no means of escaping their fate. As we get to know them better, we understand there is more to them than meets the eye. Their secrets may be the key to unlock the mystery!
The romance itself really intrigued me. After getting to know the rules of this world a little better, it became clear who difficult and painful it will be. Yet another element that made the story so fascinating.

I am eager to get to the next book.
