THIS IS THE CUTEST!!!! It's literally about these three people who wait in line for days to see Star Wars. As a Star Wars fan, I totally related. As somebody who has camped out and waited on multiple lines, I completely related. I just wished it was longer!!! It was absolutely adorable and hysterical. So many moments where I was cracking up. This entire story put a huge smile on my face the entire time I read it and I couldn't get enough of it. It's SUPER short and extremely easy and fun to read. Definitely pick this one up!!! Loved it!!

This story is just another reason why Rainbow Rowell is my imaginary BFF. (I met her once and must have seemed like a total crazy person telling her this!) In an age of online ticket sales and seat reservations, Elena is a teenager waiting on line with two other people for the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And while this is a short story, it really dives into what it means to be a nerd and a Star Wars fan, and celebrates the friendships you can make waiting on line for something you love.

Rainbow Rowell is a flawless human being. I mean, she wrote a World Book Day book about the new Star Wars film, how cool is that? I didn't think she could be cooler, but this book proves me wrong.

It was just an enjoyable short read. Do I wish there was more to it? Obviously. Did I like what I got anyway? Well, duh!

I wanted to read something fluffy and shot and that's what I got... maybe even TOO short, which is basically the only problem I had with this, I wanted more.

Also, I've never connected so thoroughly with a character as I did with Elena. Rainbow knows me so well.

Hi, I'm Anastasia and I've never seen a Star Wars movie! Here, I said it. Throw rotten tomatoes at me. 

Anyway, despite that little embarrassing fact, I really liked this short story. I'm grateful it wasn't filled with a lot of references, so I didn't feel confused at all. But I did like the geekiness of it and the feeling it gave me. And the characters were pretty interesting, although I can't say I loved them, it's only this long. 

I'm glad I've finally read this story, I love Rainbow Rowell's writing, so it was nice to revisit it. And nice to read something out of my school readings, cause I've been doing only those lately...

Another one that I finished in one sitting. I read this while we’re on our way to Frankfurt and was smiling the whole time while reading it. It’s a very short and adorable read. I can relate to Elena as a fangirl (not with Star Wars though). I’m not a Star Wars fan but I know most of the characters names from the movie because I used to collect Star Wars cards before when I was a kid. Kindred Spirits has an engaging story and the characters felt very real to me. I loved the humors too. There were a lot of funny moments in this 62-page read but I wish it was much longer than that! I read Rowell’s other novels and I think this is now one of my favorites from her. My number one is Eleanor and Park. If you love Star Wars and you’re in for a quick read, this one is perfect for you.

An adorable short story of a meeting of kindred spirits while waiting in line for 2015's Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Rowell is obviously a Star Wars fan as evident by the great banter between the characters. While short, you really feel like you get to know Elena and her fellow line geeks. I'm only sad my local Indie did not have a hardcover copy of this tale for Local Bookstore Day.

Ik had al 2 boeken gelezen van Rainbow Rowell, en ook dit kleine boekje zag ik staan. Ik hou totaal niet van Star Wars, maar de manier waarop zij schrijft, spreekt mij wel aan. Dus toch dit boekje meegenomen. En daar heb ik geen spijt van! Het verhaal verliep vlot, en ook al werden er wat Star Wars referenties gemaakt, het gaat voornamelijk over vriendschap en de nerd zijn, terwijl anderen misschien wel meer nerd zijn. Ik heb weer genoten van dit prachtige kleine boekje.
