Japan's fear of water is something that puzzled me as a teenager; I couldn't understand it, as I came from a landlocked area. But after visiting the ocean, after being on a boat, after reading about newly discovered monsters that scientists are bringing up all the time - I get it now. If you still don't get it, read this. It helps illustrate that sense of foreboding.

Meh. It's advertised as being scary because it's the same author as the Ring, so I was disappointed when, not only was it not scary, it was incredibly predictable.

Giving three stars still because I think there's an underlying message that I didn't get, likely because it was so boring it took me a long time to finish.
