Toritan: Birds of a Feather, Vol. 1

Okayyyy, a lot of mixed feelings on this one. It’s got some really funny moments, like laugh-out-loud funny. The premise is creative, I like the being able to talk to birds aspect. The characters play into the opposites attract trope which is always fun. The art style is fun and flows well. Now, here’s my icks: 1. The pacing is a bit quick for me with the budding romance, 2. the younger character(Mitsuru) just turned 18, so yes he’s an adult but he’s still in high school and the older character (Inusaki) is 23. A five year age gap isn’t bad but it’s the ages that I have an issue with, and 3. Inusaki falls in love with the Mitsuru when he (Mitsuru) is a literal crow. It could’ve been that Inusaki saw the Mitsuru’s personality in the crow form and so his feelings just transferred from one form to the other, but that has yet to be determined. 

This is a fun premise, and the writing is good. Just wish some things didn’t happen the way they did.
