Activity Coefficients of Silver Nitrate in Nitrate Salts

E.m.f. measurements have been used to determine the activity coefficients of silver nitrate in six alkali nitrate melts with allowances for corrosion at low silver(I) concentrations and for liquid junction potentials which were estimated from conductance data. Four of the systems showed positive derivations from Raoult's law, potassium nitrate showed negative deviations and sodium nitrate+potassium nitrate eutectic showed almost ideal behavior. The work constant W in cal/mol was found at 350C for silver nitrate in various solvents. (Author).
