Lies is a crazy spy novel reminiscent of the movie, True Lies.  The over the top nature of this story requires the suspension of disbelief at several different points throughout a plot that is filled with fast paced action and adventure.  Due to the short length of this book, the characters are left underdeveloped, which makes it difficult to feel a connection with them but their banter is fun and their arcs come to a satisfying conclusion by the end of the book.  If there was ever a book that would have benefited from an illustrated cover, Lies is it because the current cover is very misleading.  Overall, Lies is a zany action romantic suspense novel that is just a downright fun read.

More like a 3.75 star read for me. This one was good and fun. Kinda humorous and it definitely would make an excellent action romantic suspense movie! I will say I loved the first half, then it got a tad slow and the twist at the end I had mixed feelings about. I liked it but at first but the “surprise pregnancy” trope just wasn’t necessary and I wanted a longer epilogue! I think this one sounded better than it was, but it was still entertaining and fun! I read it in a day and still couldn’t put it down! If you’re looking for an action packed, entertainment read and you have some time to kill, this is a good choice!

How I wish I'd absolutely loved it. This could have been absolutely perfect, but I struggled with the most important thing. The lies. Thom's lies are understandable, I guess, but I kept waiting for it to be forgiven in a more... believable manner I guess? More emotion and angst considering the confusion his identity switch has to bring Betty.

Oh she gets mad alright, which was amazing. Loved it when she gave him hell for how he'd treated her. But then, suddenly... love grew out of nowhere? Lust is more than believable. But that romance really blindsided me, and made me a little unconfortable to be honest.
