Lisa Mcmann’s comeback into the YA world since last year’s goodbye to her greatly loved Wake Series is Cryer’s Cross. A story about an OCD girl & the disappearance of two of her classmates.

If anyone thought Lisa couldn’t do any better after the Wake series, they are in for a shock.
What really intrigued me about the story was Kendall’s uniqueness: she has OCD, obsessive-compulsive disorder. From the start we can see Kendall’s struggle with her sickness which just makes her like her from the start. That & Mcmann’s unique writing give a simple, yet realistic feel to the story, striping down from unnecessary actions or words ad leaving the true core of the story.

Although not exactly fast-paced, Kendall keeps us at the edge. My only complaint is the shortness of the story and the want of more from her. 
Overall, Cryer’s Cross was a dark and haunting story that will leave you wanting more.

Little town. Two missing people. No one knows what happened to them. Mourning. There's something paranormal.

The girl realizes there are some new words written in the old school desks, but it feels like they have been there forever. They're are asking for help.

What I liked: 
-Not an ordinary high school main character, she has OCD and I found that REALLY interesting. 
-She doesn't rush into the boy's arms the first time they see each other. They spend half the book not talking to each other, or arguing. 
-Suspense. There's something paranormal there, but the greatest plot remains on what happened to those two people.
-Interesting back story. And she lives in a farm, how cool is that?
-Jacián. I liked him. Very supportive to Kendall. He trusts and believes on her. And he takes care of her, not caring about the OCD thing. 

What I DIDN'T like:
-Slow narration. I thought on dropping the book until the middle of the story. I really thing the whole story should have started earlier.
-There's a lot of hidden parnormal stuff narrated as "us" that doesn't give the reader extra information. Repetitive.
-The whole thing is explained at the end of the book with a few couple of pages. Where was that speed narration at the beginning of the book?
-Kind of stress. This is really personal, but it made me feel stressed with some parts...

The book kinda reminded me on "Deadly Little Secret", from the TOUCH saga. If you liked those, try this one!
