The end of the book came swiftly and left nothing but confusion in its wake. I feel like the author was going for a significant twist ending but it fell very flat. For such a short story, I took a very long time to finish it. 

It has been not more than an hour since I finished it and I have already forgotten it. Except for the afterimage of confusion, nothing was noteworthy in this.

4.1⭐ This book was like a gun that I put through my brain and took a shot. Blew my mind. 
So it's actually a short story, i was reading it in an ebook format so didn't know that, it has this very tense and creepy atmosphere, a motel with no other guest, a girl running from her very violent lover & her eventual fate after meeting a nice guy at the motel. I might've predicted something if I knew it was going to be a short story, but coz I was expecting a long, lengthy novel at my hand so couldn't predict a single thing. As soon as I was settling down with it, BAM. It ends. The last bit hits u so hard, i read it like 3-4 times to understand what am actually reading and if this is actually happening. This was totally my kind of short story, amazing how it progresses & then that sudden bit of twist in the end that blows your mind & works for me only when it's a short story (for novels I kinda like to have bits of twists throughout the book). Its also appeals to your conscience about the whole problem of toxic, abusive relationships & having to do things u don't wanna do & running away from them
