Then his little feet, decked out in checkered Vans, take two more steps onto home plate, right into the cradle of my outstretched arms. The team goes nuts behind me.

“Miller Montgomery, you cold, unattached woman. Get over here and cuddle with me.”

Miller turns the page before brushing my son’s hair, running her fingers through it almost absent-mindedly. My son’s little blue eyes are growing heavy as he melts into her touch and listens to her read.

He kisses just below my ear, nipping at the skin. “You think you can keep this casual, Mills?”

I nod frantically, hoping to convince both of us.

His laugh is silent but rumbles against me. “Best of luck to you with that.”

“Well, it doesn’t matter if you see me or not. You’re going to feel every inch of me. I’ll be so deep, you’ll be able to feel me in your fucking throat, and I can promise you, Miller, your body won’t let you forget me.”

His smile is full of pity. I’m now getting pity from the man whose daughter I’m sleeping with.

Wrapping an arm over her shoulders, I kiss her head. “You are the most jealous woman I’ve ever met. You know that?”

Her head jerks back. “You’ve met other women?”

“You’re everywhere, and when you leave tomorrow, I’ll still see you everywhere. In this kitchen. In Max’s room. In my bed. There’s nothing about us that’s easy. This is fucking miserable, Miller, knowing there’s a clock counting down the seconds until I don’t have you anymore, but I’d do it all over again. I’d fall in love with you all over again. I’d break my heart all over again because loving you was one of the two greatest surprises of my life.”

“Miller,” he says, making sure my attention is on him. “If you ever decide to stop running and make a home . . . Make it with me.”

i think every book from this series will end up being a 5 star read.

i love kaimiller so, so much. and i loved max and how he brought out this side to miller. and don’t even get me STARTED on monty’s bond with everyone. any scene with that guy in it had me sobbing. 

the only reason i didn’t love this one as much is there was not really a plot. like yeah it featured miller struggling with her career and her navigating that. but it was centred around her being maxs nanny and i feel it never really dived into that. 

BUT i did really enjoy this book and i loved kai and millers dynamic. 

also all the cameos from the characters from MH & TRM made my heart clench. i love them.

liked it more than the previous book so i think it’s a .75 and not .5 cause it was a cute read all the spice aside :] n i love kai, max, & miller! but the book was nothing special but i did love how the ending ties into the next book which i am very excited for

this was adorable, predictable but adorable. also i’m so sorry but i was way more attracted to her 45 year old dad than the MMC… her dad was like top tier yearning, sexy, kind, just hot. this is so weird to say, but i kinda wish the MMC and FMC fought more in this book?? like they’re raising a kid together and it was almost too idealistic, happy go lucky. one time they argued but it lasted less than 20 min. idk i think i like seeing how couples handle conflict because it’s a good indicator if they’re gonna last.

omfg i love this series SO MUCH i loved kai and millers story sm, AND she’s an ex softball player so u already know im obsessed i felt so seen by so many aspects of millers character even tho miss girl annoyed me sometimes😅 <3

This is probably my favourite book in the windy city series baseball player single dad and nanny trope and coaches daughter this story was so cute I loved it and omg the end but finding out that isaiah Kai’s brother married Kennedy in vega omg probably what the next book will be about.

I loved this book so much. I knew even before reading it that it would be a 5-star read. It was just too cute, I really adore the single parent trope, Max was so adorable, omg. And can we talk about the tension, HELLOOO.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Liz Tomforde knows how to write a cracker of a romance book. The tropes in this book were absolutely amazing and all written so wonderfully. The conflict that Miller felt between her job and her new family felt so realistic and don’t get me started on Kai. Mr Clark Kent had me frothing at the mouth.

cute and good! 💗 it wasn’t like anything amazing but i did enjoy reading this it was just cute… 2.5 to 3 stars idk

This was my favourite book in the series. Kai andax tool my own heart never mindiller's. Older guy, single dad trope. From what I can remember it wasn't as spicy, Maybe 2.5/5 there definitely wasn't as many spicy scenes.

Honestly living this month’s reads so much and can’t wait to see what is next. While I don’t think this is my favorite in the series I still really liked it. It felt longer to get through for some reason and also was a little repetitive. But the characters made up for it especially the banter. I also absolutely love children in books, so Max was up there for me. 

I think it set up the next book so well and I’m so excited for it to be honest because I also really love Isaiah so much.
