This book was as advertised. Each contributor has a short explanation in answer to the book's title. While the variability of the contributors made things interesting, i only REALLY enjoyed maybe a dozen or so, which is a pretty thin slice of the book. For me the quantity and brevity of the entries left me wanting a more in-depth understanding of prayer in certain traditions. I don't feel like I got that at all from this book. In the end I would have traded some of the variety for more depth. I wouldn't recommend this one.
