someone pointed out Tom Shaw is similar to Charlie Campbell except he actually reforms and i am inclined to agree 

it has been what. 8-9 years since i last read this? and i have like 5 million things to do this week but i chose to reread this? <333 me when i am having a grand old time (HELP) 
tbh the only thing i remember about this book from when i was like 10 is Tom and Polly at the end and the story Polly tells about her siblings playing in a wheelbarrow with the visitor and absolutely ZILCH else so it was lowkey kind of surprising reading through this again. ofc it is LMA moralizing but it is FASCINATING her views on. All this. and also the Culture of the Time(tm) and ALSO she dropped a line about pairing everyone off to satisfy readers and. well. Hello Jo March. wonder how much of the last chapter was jsut like "well Tom and Polly need to get together now!" but also it WAS set up through the story and it is not a Jo & Laurie parallel at all so. it was mildly sudden tho. love how she was just like NO Maud does not marry Will she is gonna be a spinster. slay. a
anyway theres probably a lot of valuable stuff in here still i jstu kept thinking of Rose in Bloom ngl

Love, love, love this book. Once again reassured that it is indeed my favorite. I love the character arcs and how they all were so much more grown up at the end. Polly, she's just so sweet. And I also really love how Louisa May Alcott (the author) will every now and then (it's pretty infrequent) pause in the story and direct a paragraph to "my readers".
