As an admirer of Ellen Hopkins' previous works, I found this book to be quite disappointing. There seemed to be missed opportunities for the story to reach its full potential. What a letdown.

Ellen Hopkins is an auto-buy author for me. She is truly one of my top three favorite authors. So when I heard she was coming out with a non-verse adult book, I was ecstatic! I read the synopsis and was super intrigued because I thought it was going to be a psychological thriller, "edge of my seat, omg wtf is going on here?" kind of book. But...NONE OF THAT HAPPENED!!!! Nothing happened. I could read through the book but my anxiety was peaking because NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. The synopsis was a total lie. Tara is unlikable, so is the sister and Graham. Cavin is unlikable also. At some points I was asking myself "my favorite author, Ellen, wrote this trash?" I couldn't understand it. I still don't get it. I am so use to Ellen Hopkins writing complicated characters even some that I don't like. But this? This is not okay. I'm just not okay with this.
