Meet your new book boyfriend. Maddox. ruined. me. There is so so so much more about this boy than I first thought. I thought we were gonna meet a jackass who didn’t care about anyone but himself and getting laid. Now, all of that is true... except it’s not. We get both side of this dark, bruised boy and he was so much more. More haunted, more sexy, more caring and just so much more. And don’t even get me started on Lila. Our sweet, broken, strong and capable leading woman. She was everything you need in a main lead and so much more. We get a depth to her that we couldn’t suspect. And this girl don’t need any princes on white horses. This girl is a dragon unaffraid to deal with the world on her own and she is fully capable of it. 

“I'm not going to be your Knight because I know you aren't a damsel in distress. You’re more like the dragon in the fairy tale.”

This book caught me by surprised and put me in my place. It brought me to my knees with each chapter and did not let me up til I finished it all. This book has everything you need and want in a Enemies - to - friends - to - lovers? And it could not be better written. 
The author once again left me speechless and so overwhelmed with pride and a need for more. Book 2 can not come soon enough after the way the author left book 1 for us.

           normalmente los epílogos son felices, pero este me dejó bastante triste 🤧 no podía terminar bien al menos?

Este libro fue un gran meeeh para mi, la típica historia y no me malinterpreten amo los cliches pero le faltó algo a este libro, no me hizo ni reír ni correr una lagrimita de lastima, nada, incluso de daría 2 estrellas pero hubo un personaje que me gustó bastante y esa era la amiga, hasta su trama era más interesante que la de los protagonistas.

What kind of epilogue is that?

I stayed up until 3 am finishing this book. And I was not able to form any kind of cohesive line of thought. 
Now that I have quite literally slept on it, I think I am ready to try and form some full sentences about it. 

OMG! That was a hell of a ride. 

What can I say? From enemies to friends to best friends to lovers... It says it all. 
Their connection is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read about. They know each other, they support each other and they don’t want to lose each other. Both Maddox and Lila open their hearts to one another even though they never thought they would again. 

They don’t want to jeopardise their friendship so they spend 4 years building up to the moment they decide to give themselves a chance. 

Their connection was pure bliss, but the banter had me laughing out loud. A great combination if you ask me. 

Both characters are very likeable. Maddox and Lila are both wounded souls. They know they can’t fix each other, but they want to be there to hold each other’s hand. That is so precious to me. 


Now... what kind of epilogue was that? I was losing my mind at 3 in the morning, fighting the urge to start the second book. The angst is real and my heart cannot keep up. 

Overall, a beautiful story with beautifully wounded characters. 5 stars ✨

yeah i'm not reading another book just to find out why the author decided to (view spoiler)[break them up (hide spoiler)] on a flash-forward epilogue with no context whatsoever, that's just a dick move, not a cliffhanger if you ask me. lilamaddox were cute tho
