Cecilia Ahern is a great writer, and this book was mostly well written, but I can't tell you how much I hate the trope of a person being in a happy relationship and then leaving that person for someone "special" or "different", so unfortunately I just couldn't bring myself to finish the book.

Insgesamt bin ich ein großer Fan von Cecelia Aherns Romanen. Ich liebe ihren Schreibstil und ihre Art, Geschichten zu erzählen. Auf So klingt dein Herz, der deutschen Übersetzung von Lyrebird, war ich schon sehr gespannt, weil ich den Klappentext auf der einen Seite sehr faszinierend fand, mir aber auf der anderen Seite kaum etwas darunter vorstellen konnte. Tatsächlich kommt der Roman gänzlich ohne übernatürliches aus, was nicht bei allen Ahern Büchern der Fall ist. Stattdessen bekommt der Leser eine Protagonistin vorgelegt, die alles andere als normal ist. Laura kann perfekt Geräusche imitieren. Das ist jedoch nicht alles, sie hat auch eine sehr interessante Geschichte. Die ersten 16 Jahre ihres Lebens verbrachte sie bei ihrer Mutter und Großmutter, die sie geheim hielten. Trotz unbeschwerter Kindheit entwickelte sie schon hier ihre Fähigkeit, die sie die folgenden 10 Jahre sehr unterstützte, in denen sie zurückgezogen in einer Hütte im Wald lebte und so, wie sie selbst sagt, mit Tieren und Dingen zu kommunizieren lernte. Das mag verrückt klingen, aber das ist Laura keinesfalls. Dennoch hat sie durch ihr zurückgezogenes Leben einige Eigenarten, die ich sehr interessant fand und die mich während meiner Lektüre sehr unterhielten. 
Lauras Leben ändert sich schlagartig, als sie von Solomon entdeckt wird. Er ist mit seiner Freundin Bo, die Dokumentationen dreht, und der Kamerafrau Rachel unterwegs, als er sie entdeckt. Solomon selbst ist für den Ton zuständig und obwohl ich ihn sehr sympathisch fand, konnte er bei weitem nicht so sehr herausstechen, wie Laura. Obwohl viele Passagen aus seiner Sicht erzählt wurden, blieb er doch ziemlich blass und rückte häufig aus dem Fokus der Aufmerksamkeit. Laura selbst kommt durch ihre Entdeckung zunächst in Kontakt mit der Welt fernab ihres Waldes und durch einige Ereignisse zieht sie außerdem mediale Aufmerksamkeit auf sich. Wir begleiten sie dabei, mit ihrer neuen Situation zu Recht zu kommen und an ihr zu wachsen. 
Ich fand diese Idee wundervoll und am Anfang übte das Buch einen starken Sog auf mich aus. Das lag an Laura und an der Atmosphäre, in der sie lebt. Diese hatte etwas geheimnisvolles und unberührtes an sich und faszinierte mich sehr. Mit Lauras Umzug in die Stadt verändert sich die Atmosphäre jedoch maßgeblich. Nebenbei passiert erst einmal nicht viel du schnell langweilte ich mich beim Lesen. Dies änderte sich zum Ende hin zwar, an dem Punkt ging mir im Folgenden jedoch alles zu schnell. Das Buch ist mit 480 Seiten nicht dünn und sollte eigentlich genug Platz für die Entfaltung der Charaktere bieten. Das passiert zwar, aber auf zu wenigen Seiten. Außerdem blieben mir viele Reaktionen Lauras – so sehr ich sie auch mochte – ein Rätsel. Viele erschienen mir unmotiviert und ich vermochte den Sinn dahinter nicht zu erkennen. Auch fehlte mir häufig eine gewisse Konsequenz in ihrem Verhalten, das sehr sprunghaft war. Diese Punkte führten dazu, dass ich das Buch nicht so sehr mochte, wie ich es gerne getan hätte. Ich bin ein großer Fan von Cecelia Ahern und denke, dass sie das eigentlich besser geschafft hätte. Ob es wirklich daran liegt, oder ob ich mir beim Lesen einfach andere Schwerpunkte gesetzt habe, vermag ich nicht zu sagen. 
Fazit: Ich freute mich sehr auf Cecelia Aherns neuen Roman und muss auch sagen, dass mir besonders die Atmosphäre zu Beginn und die Protagonistin Laura sehr gefielen. Die Atmosphäre weicht jedoch schnell einem hektischen Großstadtleben und trotz seiner fast 500 Seiten lässt der Roman am Ende erst Raum für Charakterentwicklungen, was ich sehr schade finde. So sehr ich Laura auch mochte, die Motivation hinter manchen Verhaltensweisen konnte ich leider nicht erkennen und so habe ich das Buch mit sehr gemischten Gefühlen beendet.

Cecelia Ahern has done it again. She has such a way with words, with characters and with storylines that I did not doubt it. Even so I am always wary of disappointment with any new book. This one did not disappoint,

This was such a magical story of Laura and her journey from isolation in Cork to the overwhelming sounds of the city. It was a riveting read that had me glued to every page as you saw her plucked from her life by Bo, Rachel and Solomon and brought to the hectic world. What was brilliant was that I felt attached to every character, even those I disliked I still enjoyed reading about.

I went into this book expecting another sampling of Ahern's skill at magical realism based upon the title and summary but that is not this story. Instead it is a beautifully written story that demonstrates the magic in the boring, mundane everyday. You see the beauty in the things we take for granted and the joy in the everyday and I adored it for that. This book was just beautiful and a joy to read and I would.uld recommend it to everyone looking for a good contemporary set in Ireland.

What can I say? I just love Cecelia Ahern. I love her writing and all the magic and emotion she infuses into her stories. 

Her books make me happy. And Lyrebird was no exception. That is that.

This book had a really different story line, and that was what got me interested from the first page. Unfortunately, as the story moved on, the book got a little boring, and I had to really struggle to keep up with the book. This is the first book by Cecilia Ahern that I didn't really, umm, fall in love with, I guess? I really liked, Laura, who is the main character of the book. <3 I loved how modest, and down to earth she is. The other characters though, specially Solomon, annoyed the hell out of me. :3 By the end of the book though, I loved how different situations turned out and I felt really happy for Laura.The ending was really sweet, and that was my favourite part of the book. If you want to try out a book with a different story line and all, this book might do the trick. ^_^ 
Oh and yeah, this book had some amazing quotes. <3 I really liked this one- 
“People’s name can change throughout their lives the same way people do. They believe nicknames provide insight into not just the individual but how other people perceive that person. People become a double prism, instead of a one-way mirror.”

When you eagerly wait for a book and are disappointed after reading the first five pages itself. I refuse to believe that Cecelia Ahern has written this book. Her writing is beautiful, this book isn't. It's cringeworthy, irritating and by far her worst. I am hugely disappointed. All of the characters were annoying. Especially Solomon. Ugh. Bo was the only one I could manage because she seemed real. I am used to falling in love with the male leads of Cecelia's books. I couldn't even read a dialogue without wanting to close the book. I am going to forget its existence.
