Amazing device for satire and criticism of modernism.

May 3, 2017: I came across this graphic novel while looking for something else, and I'm so glad I did. It was a hoot! A perfect blend of wonderful humour and thinly veiled social commentary. It deals with topics such as immigration, xenophobia, politics, PTSD, religion, definition of marriage, consumerism, and many more. While quite straight-forward, all of these are presented in a neat tie-in of modern and neolithic. The art is classical comic book style, but very dynamic and highly skilled. I loved every page and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, yet smart graphic novel. It's going to be a long wait for volume two.

I don't think that I went into this comic in the way of many expectations but I was pleasantly surprised or better yet I should say I was blown away. Who would have thought that the backdrop of The Flintstones could be used so well to critique and satirize the absurdities of modern day life? Maybe since it's all new to them they realize how ridiculous it all is and can say it.

I bought this because my comic shop guy recommended it. I was not expecting much but, honestly, he has never steered me wrong. The sheer genius in this is kind of staggering (especially after one too many vodka sodas, whoops) and the amount of social commentary hidden in this book is just amazing. Seriously, give this a try. You will not regret it.
