Beautiful illustrations and lyrical, profound writing go a bit over the heads of the tiny readers for whom this book was intended. The author tries to illustrate the concepts of love in a much too complex manner, albeit the illustrations make up a bit of difference with a visual aid. No, I don’t think little kids are stupid. Yes, I think grasping abstract concepts are a level or two above the cognitive abilities of the intended audience.
