it didn’t feel like much happened in this book even though it was over four hundred pages. 

nothing was really solved? there’s still so many unanswered questions which i understand sets up for a sequel but they could’ve wrapped up at least one thing.

also didn’t really care about the present day mystery for some reason?? i was definitely more interested in what happened in the past but we got zero answers there as well.

i’m still gonna read the sequel, hope something actually gets resolved in that one.

Oh man. Now I am going to have to get to the library to borrow the second book. Lord why me. I'm kind of addicted to murder mysteries and I really love how this one was set up in a dual time line. I am so excited to keep reading and I'm thrilled to be excited about this book genre again. I feel like it has been forever since I've read one that sucked me in as much as this. The cast of characters are all so complete and original. They are complex and breathe life into the story line. I think the book as you get further and further into the plot line gets more atmospheric. I really hope the sequels continue that trend. AHH! I love Stevie and Nate by the way. Their friendship cracks me up and he really seems to get Stevie's love for crime and how to get through to her when she is needing a break. Please read so someone can discuss this book with me. :D

I’m not normally one for crime/murder mysteries, but this was SO GOOD. I really enjoyed this from start to finish! I’m so glad that I already own the rest of the series, bc I’m gonna need to read the next ASAP. 

Plus, Stevie and David forever (is this some weird Schitt’s Creek crossover?)

The fact that my brain forgot half the twists just made this better! 😂 I really enjoyed this the second time around, I loved all the banter and the weird clues scattered throughout it. 
Stevie and David continue to be my favourites. 
And onto book 2.

This was fabulous, I adore Stevie so much. She is an amazing character and this story had me totally hooked from start to finish. That cliffhanger ending too! OMG!
