A beautifully written and illustrated story of a boy named Max. After a fight with his parents, as he is truly a monster, he is sent to his room with no dinner. He decides to run away and finds himself in a far off land, a land full of terrible, horrible, mean, wild things! Max challenges the biggest baddest monster and is crowned King of the Wild Things. They all have terrible, horrible fun running wild. However, max begins to miss his home, and his family. He decides to return to his parents and when he does he finds his mother has left him a hot meal.
I truly love this beautiful children's book. Max is wild and free but reminds us that sometimes even wild things just need a little love. A family favorite and a classic.

I read this aloud for my brother. I don't know it was fine but I guess I expected a little more.

It’s a lovely children’s book to show the power of imagination and play, even when alone. But I feel that it lacks any sort of moral compass, Max isn’t the nicest boy and she isn’t very nice to the wind things either. However, the idea of returning to someone you love and being welcomed with warm food and open arms, even if you’ve initially done something wrong, is a pleasant message.
