I love the fact that the author was generous enough to put all the recipes at the end of the book! This was a good, fast read. The premise was good enough, having read another mystery series with food at the center, I expected this to be similar but it wasn't. Plenty of things going on with individual characters but the lead heroine - Jules is interesting! I didn't think that I would want to continue with the series, but I keep catching myself thinking about Jules!

I love the author and her writing. Her books are unforgettable and deserve the 5-star rating. This is the first book in the series and it didn’t disappoint. There is tension, drama and a whole lot of mystery all happening in a bake shop. The best thing about this cozy series are the recipes in back. I can’t wait to give them all a try.

I wasn’t convinced when I started it, but the story really sucked me in! So many plot twists!

So I always have a hard time with the beginning of series because of how much information that comes with book 1 but even with that I really enjoy this one ,and have already put in the resuest for book 2. It was a munder mystery with the beiginnig of a love story. It was easy to fell into and stay invole with the story! great for a quick read!

This was really cute! It was the quintessential cozy mystery book. Woman returning to hometown? Check. Failed love? Check. Old flame might be reignited? Check.

What I will say to the benefit of this; this is a series without the female protagonist going through a makeover. She doesn't need to "get her groove back" or have someone push her to buy a new dress and she goes from "frumpy" to gorgeous. It is a common trip in cozy mysteries and it drives me bonkers! So this not having it is a huge plus and kind of reignited my desire to read cozy mysteries.

If you're looking for novel content though, this isn't it. It really has what you expect in a cozy mystery without a ton of innovation. Personally I feel like that's what draws people to cozy mysteries (you know what you'll get sort of thing) but I can see how this would be a problem if you aren't someone looking for a formula novel.
