Ivory

Set in the year 6303 when most of the world's wildlife is dead, Duncan Rojas, is approached by Bukoba Mandaka, the last of the Maasai, to find the tusks of a Kilimanjaro elephant. He accepts, and carries out his search back and forth through time, in card games, wars and rivalries.
