this book is wonderful written. the description, the symbolism, the entire story is just absolutely beautiful, although it's not exactly my taste in books. Goodnight Mr Tom is a book i was required to read this semester, along with 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas', too write an analytical essay on. the book was wonderfly written but i honestly hate historical books like this. i wish i could have enjoyed this novel to the max but i really couldn't lol.

What a lovely book. It was incredibly sad at times, but uplifting all the same. To see the growth of Will as a main character, his relationships with Tom, Zach and the rest of Little Weirwold. I was left with watery eyes and a warmed heart, for William is a truly developed character in such a short book.

Set during the dark and dangerous build-up to the Second World War, Goodnight Mister Tom follows sad young William Beech, who is evacuated to the idyllic English countryside and builds a remarkable and moving friendship with the elderly recluse Tom Oakley. All seems perfect until William is devastatingly summoned by his mother back to London.-6 women, 7 men

Joyful and uplifting

A triumph of human fortitude and good over evil, I was moved to tears, both happy and sad, as young Will found his way into his new life. Through tragedy and love, Mister Tom is a wonderful encapsulation of the human spirit and the power of love.
