This was the first book I read by this author and it didn't disappoint. We meet Jillian who sacrificed a lot of her early twenties to take care of her brother after a tragedy. Nothing was more important than her brother. Now that he is all grown up, she can start living her own life. Richard is just getting out of a twenty year marriage and wants to break free. He never expected to meet someone like Jillian. What was supposed to be a one night thing has turned in to something different. There is an age difference that is pretty big. Can they overcome that?
I liked that the romance in this book grew gradually. Even though there was an attraction, they didn't act on it for quite awhile. I love both of these characters, but would've loved seeing more of her brother and friends. The reason I didn't give this book five stars is because the ending felt a bit rushed to me. It's like I missed part of the story. All in all, a really good romance book. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this author.
