Strange Altars No. 1 Food

Strange Altars is a semi-annual zine that hopes to re-imagine what it can mean to experience creative work shared by others: writing that you hear, pages you want to taste, animation you can hold. Strange Altars aims to be a vessel for storytelling, beautifully presented and as tangible/sensory an experience as possible, with a 'story' being anything from poetry to memoir to technical instruction to social examination (if based in language), from photography, painting, sculpture, film, video, audio, animation, comics to fragrances/scents, blends of spices/flavors (if based in visual or mixed media), or even physical objects. The theme of Issue No. 1 is Food, with the understanding that food can mean almost anything, as sustenance and appetites (or lack of, or denial of them) color many things.
