I really did enjoy this book in certain parts. There were some parts however I felt were prolonged, unnecessary and irrelevant. I guess those parts contributed to the reality of a young Bangladeshi lady who willingly and unknowingly complied to an arranged marriage to a man a lot senior to her.
 I love this book because it portrays how Bangladeshi women suffered in Britain during the late 1900s and early 2000s. I also think, was Monica Ali also trying to show the dark side of the Bangladeshi community in East London? I think she was.
 Despite these toxic times, this book empowers Nazneen and her friends at the end after a long, gruelling journey full of heartache, deceit, and lust.
