Dragon is returning home with his betrothed when his caravan is attacked. When he finds the assassin responsible, he feels the compunction to take her home.

Jade is a master assassin with the tattoos to prove it. She has never been saved by her target before though! She expects cells not Dragons private quarters. But when her miss at Dragon gets out, she may have to team up with one time target to thwart the kill squad which now has both of them in their sights.

The betrothed do seem to have a rough deal in this book. But Lauren is very hard work to like and very "mean girl" and Gilda is such a wallflower but far more likeable! I do wonder just how they might get their own HEA!

Dragon may be forceful and know what he wants, he never forces himself on Jade and really just wants her to be happy. I'll admit I had a little tear at the end and can't wait to see what happens next after this HFN ending.
