Holy heck I literally could not put the freaking book down after getting past the 50 page mark. This one is the best one in the series so far, hands down.

While Cleo sets aside her feelings about Magnus to fulfill her royal duties, a betrayed Lucia teams up with a vengeful Fire god, Jonas becomes a pawn in the hunt for the Kindred, and King Gaius sails across the Silver Sea to forge a dubious alliance.

4.0 STARS:

It's been a hot minute since I delved into this series, but thankfully I remembered everything. This book was very well done, but I wouldn't rate it as high as a few of the other books.

First, the good: great character development, wonderful twists, nice world-building, and fantastic romance. Emphasis on that last part, as I forgot how much I enjoyed Magnus and Cleo. 

The bad part was that the first half really dragged. Also, I was more invested in some plotlines than others and that hasn't happened to me in this series before. The other bad part was I still can't stand Nic. I'm sorry, but he really annoys me, and he did something at the end of this book that I want to  throttle  him for!

Still, I'm looking forward to finally finishing this series, but it probably won't happen for a little while. There are some other sequels I've been needing to get to for a while. 

Also, I'm nervous because I've heard from a reviewer I trust that after this book the series goes downhill.....

The best way I can describe this series is fantasy soap opera! So many twists, turns and connections! I absolutely love the characters, especially my baby Magnus Demora 😍

This series is amazing is have every component a story needs. Cleo being my favorite female character showed why yet again she deserves to be Queen. Jonas I felt didn't need to get into his feelings until he was forced to. Amara is a sassy character who I would've liked to have gotten to know better hopefully I will. King Gaius has this HUGE arc I would personally call because of blah blah. So did Felix but some would say he reverted to his old ways and that part had me laughing of his misfortune with rebels. Lucia is taking the predictable down-spiral but hopefully with no a predictable end.

How can I even review this book? This whole series just keeps growing and taking over every thought that I have ever had. Have you ever had a book that you literally will relate anything back to? This is this series for me right now. 

Friends: "You want to go out for drinks?"
Me: "Do I want to start a never-ending, but inevitable, war between two countries that drags everyone around said-countries to pick sides and kills thousands and bring the coming of the most powerful witch? NO THANK YOU"
Friends: "...okay?"

Characters are introduced, but you literally can't call anyone safe because the next chapter they will be killed off.

Who knew that these two would end up being FLIPPING SOUL MATES after SOMEONE killed SOMEONE and broke SOMEONE'S heart?!

I still feel as if everyone in this series is an idiot and they always make the absolute worst decisions, but I can't help but love every single one of them. Even Jonas, who is living way past is expiration date. Seriously... this guy is the luckiest guy in the world when it comes from escaping death. 

and Lucia has lost her ever-precious mind. She's holding onto a big secret... and playing with fire... quite literally. 

I'm scared to read the next book.. how many more twist and knots can Morgan Rhodes and Michelle Rowen put a girl in?!

If you haven’t started this series yet, do yourself a favor and give it a shot. THIS is by far one of the best YA fantasy series I’ve had the pleasure of reading. I would even go so far as to say the plot twists and revelations are better than anything you’ll get from Throne of Glass. I SAID IT. 🙈
