All the Young Dudes - One

It was an impossible burden, to hate somebody you couldn't help loving.

Years later, Remus would always remember thinking in that moment that Sirius Black must be the bravest boy in the world.

The days were much warmer now, and as June opened up and the testing came to a close, the marauder's minds turned to mischief.

This was no great thing for them - James and Sirius treated it as any other afternoon; the hospital bed was just an extension of their dorm. For Remus it was everything - it was time that would otherwise be spent anxious and alone. It was the closest thing to family he could imagine.

Sirius looked at Remus, and for the first time since Christmas Eve, Remus saw him smile. That Sirius Black smile – nothing could ever ruin that.

In James' mind, the most important thing was to always fight back. But if everything was a battle, then inevitably 

 had to lose. And until he was of age, that was going to be Sirius every time.

"The marauders are a socialist utopia," Sirius yawned again, "We don't have leaders."

All for one and one for all, us marauders

Later that night, after lights out, Remus heard Sirius creep over to James' bed and cast the silencing spell for the first time in a long time. He wished they would invite him, just once. He wished he wasn't always the one left out, he wished he knew how it felt to have a friend as close as James. More than ever, he wanted someone to talk to. 

Suddenly overwhelmed, Remus quickly cast his own spell, so the others wouldn't hear him crying.

"Have I gone mad?" Mary laughed, "Sirius Black, the voice of reason?!"

 the idea of keeping it to himself. The marauders didn't have to know 

 about him, and he was allowed to have other friends, wasn't he?

Leon

"Complete nightmare, that one." Sirius groaned, trying a hot air charm on his hair.

"That's my future wife you're taking about,"

James replied, dreamily, watching her go.

"No wonder you needed a lie down," Sirius smirked. Remus threw a pillow at him.

"Was it scary? Was I scary?" He had no idea what he looked like in wolf form.

"No." He said, firmly. "You were beautiful."

There were cards from everybody - including one from Professor Ferox, which made Remus blush from top to bottom.

"You should be a teacher." One of them said, which Remus thought was very kind, but completely insane.

Someone

No. You're not doing my homework for me." Remus protested, standing up himself, folding his arms. 

"Too bloody right. I'm not." Sirius replied, withdrawing a heavy book. It was 4 History of Magic, Remus recognised the size and shape. "I just fancied refreshing my memory, that's all. So, I'm going to sit here and read it aloud- because that helps me study- and if you happened to retain some of it in that enormous brain of yours, then there's not much I can do about it."

Stunning. Reminded me of the magical feeling of what it was like to read the Harry Potter books as a kid but without the terf.

If Harry Potter was written like this, I probably would have enjoyed it. Ms. Bean does a fantastic job at writing teenage angst and creating dynamic characters. How she writes them exploring and playing with magic is incredibly enjoyable. Excited to start Volume 2.

Bin jetzt circa bei 220.000 Wörtern und es ist bombe. Der Schreibstil ist super, die Charaktere sind so vielschichtig und Lupin als Hauptfigur hält mein Herz sehr fest. 

Bis jetzt war alles ziemlich knuffig, ich befürchte ja, dass da noch Krieg und ganz viel Drama kommt, deswegen schreibe ich hier schonmal, dass mich der Humor schon öfters zu Tränen (vor Lachen) gebracht hat.

Bin jetzt circa bei 220.000 Wörtern und es ist bombe. Der Schreibstil ist super, die Charaktere sind so vielschichtig und Lupin als Hauptfigur hält mein Herz sehr fest.

It took me back to my HP addiction, mostly to my Marauder's Era! I love Wolfstar and I love that this fanfic filled up this empty space I had because we do not have any book or novella about Marauders and their lives before that horrible Halloween. Not gonna lie - I cried so much during this.
