The concepts that really struck a chord for me in the book were:
- the importance of language in our somewhat futile attempt to understand God
- the notion that Christ is present with us and is in the little details of life. He's about the specific not the general. I like the words he uses but I'm not sure I totally understand them.
- I appreciate his purposeful struggle with his faith. So many people try to persuade us by demonstrating their certainty. I gave the author more leeway because he was clearly searching for a better understanding of God, and what then.
- the book makes me wonder what i'm Waiting or searching for, and what I expect to do if and when I find it.

At times, more often than not, his literary references and quotes from poetry were lost on me. I was able to pull some meaning from a few of them, but not many.
