           This reminded me of the After books by Anna Todd - and not in a good way. Yeah, I get it, the male protagonist is hurt over his ex-girlfriend lying to him, whatever. But it does NOT give him the right to be so disrespectful, controlling and plain rude to everyone - especially the female protagonist, the girl he is apparently so in love with. That was the main thing that threw me off from the start, and I honestly couldn't even get myself to enjoy the book and the story itself without thinking about it. Other than that, the story revolves around unnecessary family drama and tragedies, which served to "excuse" the characters' behavior. The supposed villains were just plain stupid at times, I couldn't even hate them because they were so ridiculous. The writing is the only thing salvageable out of this; it's not great or anything, but I guess it could be worse. This story threw me off so much I couldn't even pick up another book until now - it pushed me into the worst reading slump I've had since March. It was such a big disappointment.
