A great summer read. This story is a conspiracy-lover's dream. It's based on the crash of TWA 800 off Long Island. Was information suppressed that would have shown it was a missile strike rather than a a mechanical problem? The timing of the story makes the reader want to find out how he is going to resolve the book. Pretty well, considering real life events. I enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the thrilling read I expected. I thought the first half of the book was a bit slow but then the pace picked up and I started enjoying the book. Still, I was extremely disapointed by the ending and didn't like the characters at all.

I really like DeMille's writing. I mean this is NOT great literature - but my god! It is so entertaining! The main character, John Corey, ex-NYPD detective and current member of the Federal Anti-Terrorist Task Force is just like every character Humphrey Bogart ever played. You should hate him - but he is so cool and smart and witty you have to love him.

I had planned to write that you can count on DeMille to tie up EVERY SINGLE loose end ---- but that (spoiler alert) was before I got to the ding dang ending of this %$*@$ book. 

Despite my screaming of NO NO!!!! at the end - I still say I love his books!
