Its ok for a nicholas spark book. honestly not good enough to actually remember what its about. It was good at the time.

Okay, but not one of Nick's best work. Its getting way to predictable, except for that twist at the end.

           This book shocked me. And that's saying something. Usually Nicholas Sparks books are super predictable (which is really why I love them half of the time) and at the end I was completely shocked that Lexie died. I thought it was going to be the baby, but I really was not expecting it. Overall, an easy, quick, heartwarming read.

Finding himself happily married, living far from his New York City origins, and anticipating the birth of his first child, Jeremy Marsh receives a mysterious message that reopens wounds from the past and changes the course of his marriage.

Sadly, i have to say i can't give a 5 to this book, not even a 4. i'm usually very easy on Nicholas Sparks because he's one of my favorite authors of all time - but not this time. 

Somehow, the plot didn't satisfy me, and the ending... God, the ending was horrible (for me). even though it's unexpected (i usually like unexpected things), but the ending just makes me sad. i don't like being sad. 

The good thing will be the title. I was thinking of a boy and a girl falling in love at first sight and all when i first saw the title. but after finished reading the book, i finally grasp the real meaning behind the title, and it was very impressive meaning. :) 

On with the story that i don't like so much.
The story is basically about Jeremy Marsh, a columnist living in New York and suddenly going to move to a countryside to marry a girl called Lexie whom he knew only for a few weeks. His family and friends didn't really approve at first. They think Jeremy is rushing into things and is going to marry a girl he barely knew. 

And then the secret is revealed. Lexie is actually already pregnant with Jeremy's baby. Jeremy seems to be happy to take responsibility of this, since his first marriage ended because of his inability to give children. 

So, Jeremy moved to Boone Creek with Lexie, a small town with not much to look at and go to. At first it was difficult to adapt to the life he wasn't used to. Especially, he finds it really difficult to write his columns there. Other problems are related to Jeremy's suspicion about Lexie cheating with Rodney behind his back. This is where - to me - the plot seems really flat. (and im sorry if im not in the mood of talking about the story so much)

I'm really not happy when nothing excites me. From the beginning of the book, everything seems to go into a lot of descriptions and talking but the plot doesn't improve in any way. Even more, i really want to see the things that happen "before" the pregnancy happened. Their meeting, their relationship, etc. Because from the middle until the end, i cannot really feel Jeremy & Lexie's feelings toward each other really well. It seems like they suddenly fell in love with each other. 

Sadly, I have to say that i'm not really impressed with this one. I can finish it, but i don't feel any satisfaction after reading. I hope the next one i read will be much better. :):)

Dramatic, heartbreaking and surprising, this is a story about the love between a man and a woman and between a parent and a child. More than that, it is a story that beautifully portrays how the same emotion that can break your heart is also the one that will ultimately heal it. While the novel picks up the tale of Lexie Darnell and Jeremy Marsh that started in True Believer and will delight fans of that novel, it stands on its own as one of Nicholas Sparks's most deeply moving love stories.

It took me longer than I expected. Felt some serious things about Lexie in the beginning. Towards the middle it seem she was changing just like he was both sacrificing something they truly loved. They were scared & everything seem new & uneasy.

When I think Nicholas Sparks, I think love stories with mostly fairytale endings, and that's what I love about him. At the same time, I can appreciate that life doesn't always happen that way - in fact, almost never happens that way - and I really enjoyed this one despite the fact that it was sad and terribly depressing. If you're looking for a light read, I would skip over this one. But this is still a great one in my opinion.
