'I have nothing to hide, I don't care if the NSA has my data.' If this is what you think then you need to read this book and think again. 'A man who trades his liberty for a safe and dreamless sleep/ doesn't deserve the both of them and neither shall he keep.' 

The things they do should belong in the realm of science fiction, or conspiracy theorists or satire. But it's not and we need to be angry about it.

Greenwald does come across as a bit of a tool at times, but that doesn't mean he, Laura and Snowden (and Miranda) haven't done an extraordinary thing by getting this information out there at the risk of their liberty and, arguably, lives. Definitely going to read his other books.

(+) I learned alot more details about the files that Snowden leaked and the history of the NSA's surveillance 

(-) Alot of the graphics and excerpts from the files were difficult to understand and not explained well enough. Greenwald stated that in order to help reporters understand all the acronyms in files, Snowden gave them a dictionary of some sort. Yet Greenwald didn't put this in the book at all and I got confused by all the acronyms. Also one chapter is completely about the attacks made against Greenwald by the government and reporters. While I get the point he was trying to make, it didn't need to take an entire chapter. I felt like he just included this chapter to say what he couldn't at the time, not to inform the reader.

Very interesting book following the journalist who was in contact with Snowden during the initial NSA leaks. The book goes in depth to some programs that the US Government was using to monitor citizens activity and touches on the technology needed for these big operations. The author does a great job of citing interviews with top security officials and even the president, then disproving the interviews with documents that leaked.
