What to say without giving spoilers? NOCTE will mess you up. That's a fact. Courtney Cole had to make a Facebook support group for those that had read the book because it was intense and too much to handle and. I had so many theories going into it and while reading, I kept coming up with more theories and I was close but not enough to be correct.

NOCTE messed with my head and with my heart. While reading I kept thinking, "This is something you will deal with when you become a Psychologist." Let me tell you, it is scary. Anyway, it messed with my heart because you fall in love with each character blindly and wholehearted and then your heart gets smashed into pieces.

Then the ending...we have to wait until February to find out more and I don't think my heart can take it. If you have never experienced a wild, roller-coaster ride of emotions, you will most likely suffer through one with NOCTE, but let me tell you, it will be the ride of your life and you will never forget it. 

NOCTE is one of those books that will stay in your heart forever. It is the best book I have read in 2014.

AHHH. What a fantastic book! Any critiques I had about it just blasted away in the last chapters. Everything began to make sense. It was brilliant and eery, and tragic yet so realistically mind-blowing. I suspected part of the ending in the beginning but when it actually happened it blew my mind. It wasn't cliche like I thought I was in the beginning or whatever my predictions might have been. I was only partly right. And I'm so glad I was partly wrong. It was such a great read. Although I believe it should've just ended in the second to last chapter...but now there are two more books. WHYYY? 
Whatever. The cliff hanger was enough to get me to pick up the next one. WOW. I loved it. Thank you Gen for recommending it. Impressive story!

I have to be honest here: I have no idea how to review this book without giving away everything that makes it nothing short of fantastic. I absolutely refuse to spoil one single second of this story, so expect a short "OMG BUY THIS BOOK" type of review. 

From the first page, Nocte will grab you, sink in its claws and hold on tight until the very last word, when you're left gasping for breath and desperately wanting more. Seriously, I kept trying to flip pages on my iPad, knowing that couldn't be it. There had to be more. Yes, there is a cliffhanger... and it's a doozie. Consider yourself warned.

This book is beautifully-written and a glorious mindfuck. I've read (and LOVED) quite a few dark romance novels, but none of them have ever been quite like this. The underlying mystery unravels slowly and organically, page by page, as the story goes on. When it's time for you to read this book, make sure you clear your schedule. You won't want to put it down once you've started. 

With complex characters, sexy romance, a great mystery and more twists and turns than you can wrap your head around, Courtney Cole knocked it out of the park with Nocte. I've been a fan of Courtney's new adult books for quite awhile now. But now? Now I want more books just like this one. There's still a little over a month to go in 2014, but there's a pretty good chance Nocte will wind up on my best of 2014 list. Verum, the second book in the Nocte Trilogy, is at the top of my "must have" list for winter 2015. But, it's going to be a long, painful wait until February...

All I knew about Nocte going into it was that I shouldn’t know anything about it before going into it. I stuck with that. I didn’t read any reviews, I didn’t ask any questions… I just dove in headfirst. And, oh man, did this book throw me for a loop!

“I’m doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I’m drowning more and more each day.”

If I can suggest one thing, it’s to go into this story with as little knowledge of it as possible. It has all kinds of twists and turns and mind-mashers that will leave you, if you’re anything like me, screaming, “WHAT?!?!” more than once. It was very enjoyable, thrilling, and left me super eager to continue on with this trilogy. This is one I would definitely recommend to those that like a good physiological thriller to really mess with your head.

Whoa whoa whoa this book was really good. It reads like a new adult but it's not a new adult book. It's all about mental illness and these secrets that need to unfold. I had kind of figured it out but now there's another bigger secret in which will make me buy all the other books because just whoa!

You need to pick this up ASAP!
