I really like the author so it pains me to say I didn't really enjoy this. There are better books by this author, definitely funnier, too. I really don't get the rave/hype on this book at all. I was really wanting to like it, but it just didn't happen. It was boring and I really couldn't get into it. Only one conversation made me laugh a little.

This was an okay read for me. I liked the humour, and Ian and Sam were a great couple, but I wanted more of the mushy stuff. I wanted more after the whole email debarcle, which I didn’t get. I also think the book needed more in Ian’s POV. 

But this was an okay book, give it a go if rom-com is your thing.

R.S. Grey is the queen at writing Rom Com that keeps you up until 3 in the morning. Not So Nice Guy is my new favorite of hers! This was such a fun and hilarious read that actually got me out of a reading slump (praise her🙌🏼)! I have read most of her books and can say this gave me all the feels, and it could also be I’m a sucker for friends to lover romance. 
The main character Sam was HILARIOUS! I could really relate to her and she had so much spunk. She wasn’t you average girl who is tall and blonde or super arrogant. She was spunky, quirky, and had a great since of humor. I loved the dynamic between her and Ian! They are my ideal of what best friends are and I love how the author made this natural chemistry between them. They made me want to have West Wing Wednesday with my bestie!
Ian is definitely swoon worthy! He’s a hot chemistry teacher!🙌🏼 I love a good hot nerd for sure, but he was also very charming and has a little bad boy in him too. The way he always looked out for Sam and was protective of her was so freaking adorable! He really is one of my favorite male characters she has written. 
The only thing that was problematic was in the last third of the book it started to get really insta lovey. I went from like a simmering 20 to 100 in .5 seconds. It was a little unrealistic and far fetched but none the less I still really enjoyed it. I am not to biggest fan of insta love but the humor really added to this book.
Over all I really loved this one and definitely will reread in the future because not only was it hilarious but it got me out of a book slump, which for me is saying a lot. The only thing I would say it that it was a little insta lovey. I mean I do expect that from a friends to lovers and so It wasn’t really and issue for me but if your a slow burn kinda person I would say still give it a try and don’t tell bad if you have to dnf😂. Idefinitely 100% recommend!

Absolutely HILARIOUS!! This is definitely RS Greys funniest book that I’ve read so far. It was so adorable, light, sweet and fluffy. At times it straddled the line between ridiculous and hilarious but I still had fun and I laughed the whole way through! RS Grey is always the perfect choice if you want super low angst, laughs, and that warm happy feeling! Ian and Sam were so cute!

Once again I was sucked into this book from the start and was laughing out loud. An author that uses Harry Potter references, always scores points with me, haha. As a big fan of friends to lovers romances, I knew I was at the right place for a wonderful story and I was right.

Sam and Ian have been best friends for a few years and both have feeling for each other. The only problem? The other one doesn't know. This creates some hilarious moments. It's fun seeing them try not to notice attractive details about each other or just trying not to stare at all! It's clear that they have their own routine and can't really live without the other. Even the school they work at, they have created their own little bubble in the lounge. I love how they always bring different things to luch and trade. If you didn't know any better, you'd say they are a married couple.

The fact that there are unknown feelings, gives us some hilarious, laugh out loud, moments. I love how awkward they can be around each other and let's just say, make sure to check who you're sending an e-mail to before hitting send.

Sam is such a relatable character. She is a bit shy and insecure at times. Sam is also very good at thinking things over way too many times I am definitely guilty of that at times).She is a bit awkward in some situations and I can so see myself in her, haha. I love how R.S. Grey's characters are far from perfect.

Ian on the other side, could be seen as the perfect book boyfriend. He's thoughtful, sensitive, only has eyes for one girl an will do anything for her. He's good at teasing her and cares for what he does. I think we can check off all the important book boyfriend characteristics.

A lot of romances have drama. This one included, but in Not So Nice Guy, it's not as angsty as some romances have. It actually leads to some other funny moments in this book. Most of R.S. Grey books get 5 stars from me, but this one scores just a little lower. For me the ending was a bit too rushed (I would've loved some moments to have had more time. Also, there is a certain part of the book that rubbed me the wrong way when Sam was freaking out.

All in all, definitely another amazing romantic comedy written by this amazing author.

I love the risk vs. reward of a friends to lovers romance and R.S. Grey's latest, Not So Nice Guy, is the latest addition to my favorites list. You know those times when you just KNOW you're going to love a book before you even begin reading it? That's how I felt about this release. I can always count on her books to make me smile, swoon and laugh, which is what makes her one of my go-to authors. Knowing she was taking on one of my favorite tropes — a trope that doesn't get nearly as much love as I wish it did — made me even happier and more anxious to read this book. Unsurprisingly, I fell head over heels for the characters and their story pretty much immediately and that love carried through the entire book.

My god did I adore Sam and Ian. They were absolutely adorable. I loved their friendship, the banter and, boy did they have fantastic chemistry. I laughed along with the situations they found themselves in and relished each moment. So often, friends to lovers books can be filled with angst and uncertainty. There was a little of the latter, naturally, because it's kinda scary to admit the strength of feelings you have for your best friend, but there was basically zero angst. Instead there were laughs and awkwardness and all kinds of honest affection. 

It's been awhile since I cheesy-grinned my way through an entire book, but that's exactly what happened with Not So Nice Guy. I straight up hugged my iPad when I finished. Through my happy tears, of course, as I am an emotional reader. I don't like to play favorites when it comes to my favorite authors, but I loved this book so hard. It ticked all my boxes and I think I have to admit it's my new favorite R.S. Grey book. It's going in the reread pile. I could probably turn around today, after just finishing it, and reread it again right now. That's how much I adored every little thing about this book.

If you are looking for an easy and fun read that will make you laugh then this is the right book for you.



Not So Nice Guy was so much of a quick read for me because I just didn't want to put it down. I actually ended up going to sleep very late while I was reading this one.



This book is very well written and made me laugh a bunch of time.

Ahhhh!! This book had it ALL!! It was hilarious, adorable, sweet and sexy. Sam and Ian are two of my favorite characters... EVER!! I absolutely fell for both of them. These two had the sassiest, wittiest banter I’ve seen in a long time. It was just so fun!!

I’m such a huge fan of the whole friends-to-lovers trope, and this may just be the very best one I’ve ever read. That’s right, I said “ever”. The queen of rom-coms has done it again!

You just can't go wrong with R.S. Grey's romantic comedies. Not So Nice Guy is a hilarious friends-to-lovers romance between two school teachers. I thought this was adorable, a little over the top, and just plain old FUN to read. If you love R.S. Grey, you'll want Sam and Ian in your life!
